 FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

For What It's Worth is a four-piece band hailing from the Providence, RI area. Having been a part of the local scene and members of several other bands, Jenn Kitten (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Jim Federico (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Matt Chiperfield (Bass) and Jeremy Kroger (Drums) formed in the spring of 2004 and have since dedicated themselves to writing new and original music. Pulling from various influences, the band has created a sound that has been described by others as pop-punk with a melody. For What It’s Worth plays high energy songs about girls, broken hearts, disappointment and sweet revenge.

"My songs are written about past and present events in my life experiences," says Jenn Kitten. Their live performances are packed full of energy, which makes it easy to see that the band is passionate about their music. Bob Gulla, from The Providence Phoenix called them a, "high-energy performer with a heartfelt delivery". Linda from The Sad Café stated, "I think this band might become a favorite of mine". Since July 2004, the band has sold over 500 copies of a 3 song demo and has performed in venues located in New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts and their home state of Rhode Island.  For What It's Worth is destined to stand out and put Rhode Island on the musical map while making a name for themselves as a band with diversity, energy and determination. Expect them to be rocking out in a city near you, expect to have a good time and expect to be singing their songs in your head for days.  You can hear sample music from For What It's Worth at http://www.myspace.com/forwhatitsworthri.

 STEPHEN FOSTER - HOWLER

Stephen Foster is an original Muscle Shoals session musician, a vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist who has worked alongside such luminaries as Percy Sledge, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Minnie Ripperton, Cornelius Brothers and Sister Roe, The Cars, Ricky Nelson, and the 5th Dimension among others.

A former 20th Century Fox, Janus and now Whitehorse label artist, Stephen wrote, sang, and produced the Cashbox Pick-Of-The-Week single, "Leavin' It Up To You" and has performed live in clubs and concert for over 25 years.  The Grateful Dead immortalized Stephens’s famed quartet, "The Doo-Dah Band" in the Dead's classic hit "Truckin'" and Stephen's classic "For the Love of a Girl" still receives airplay after 25 years.  His powerful vocal style is reminiscent of the great R&B/Soul vocalists of the 60's and early 70's which carries over to this day in modern music.

Known throughout the South for 30 years as Howler, he has finally embraced the name and attitude, and has a cd out, "Howler", featuring the "Mighty Field of Vision Anthem" which has climbed the charts in Australia and received airplay in Europe.  The newest Howler CD "Howler" is on the AMA charts, in 20 million homes on Clear Channel and Rollye James XM.  Click HERE  to hear a sample of Howler's music.

  LYNN GEYER

Singer, songwriter and author, Lynn Geyer, presents uplifting music for use in Christian settings. Lynn develops youth programs, such as her nationally recognized “Journey to Forgiveness”, an examination of conscience which includes a full length 17 song CD.

Much of her ministry is devoted to the power of prayer in forgiveness and healing. Her easy alto lends itself to quiet services using traditional or contemporary music as well as charismatic prayer meetings.

Lynn has recorded four albums. "Music of the Light", her first solo project, was released in January, 2001. The title track received a Unity Award from UCMVA as Praise and Worship Song of the Year 2001. She has performed in countless churches on the east coast, as well as in conferences throughout the US, Canada, Spain, Italy, Australia, Germany and Brazil, Barbados and Trinidad.

Her latest project is "Christmas All Year Through", a collection of Advent and Christmas songs. She's the President of CAM, the Catholic Association of Music, founded by John Michael Talbot providing guidance for Catholic musicians in public ministry.  BETHANY GILLAN

Bethany Gillan possesses a young yet accomplished voice that's every bit as expressive as her harmonies. At twenty-four this thinking person's poet writes metaphorical melodies that suggest a composer twice her age, and her soft, elegant tone rises to the challenge. Having cut her teeth on everything from Classical to Pop-Rock, Bethany's rich musical history is reflected in her ambitious songwriting--try to imagine Joss Stone and Sarah McLachlan joining Fleetwood Mac for a sun-soaked jam session. Gillan croons smoothly, shifting between resonant low notes and a passionate high-range of casual, mystical grace.

  KENNY GIORDANO

Kenny Giordano  got his start at the age of four when he picked up his first guitar. He began figuring out songs by ear — everything from The Beatles to The Standells to The Monkees. Kenny cast himself into mastering the guitar with the unparalleled enthusiasm of youth. In the process he uncovered a hidden gift of perfect pitch. At eight, inspired by Scott Joplin’s The Entertainer while watching the movie The Sting, Kenny discovered the piano. Kenny convinced his parents to pay for piano lessons and practiced on the piano next door. With money saved through odd jobs over the next several years, Kenny contributed $100 towards the purchase of his own piano. That piano is in use in Kenny’s home today.

In addition to his folk, country, rock, ragtime, and classical roots, Kenny has extensive experience with church choirs. For most of the past thirty years, Kenny has been involved with some aspect of music ministry. At age thirteen, Kenny realized you can’t take the piano out to the woods to serenade a girl. As a matter of fact, Kenny didn’t sing at all up to that point. He focused on developing his acoustic guitar and vocal skills. He learned a variety of songs spanning folk, country, rock, and blues genres. Kenny’s singing future began to take shape. Later in his teens Kenny was inspired by long-time friend and fellow acoustic performer David Graziano to put pencil to paper (and pick to the strings) and begin composing original music. This has culminated in the release of his first all-original album, Future Full & Free.

  CALEB JUDE GREEN

Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, Caleb Jude Green is the embodiment of musical talent, personal style, and spiritual grace.  Caleb first picked up the bass as a relief to his boredom while sitting in pews as his parents played their own special brand of music in churches across America.  At age 18, Caleb began playing guitar, and that's when he first started writing songs - a lot of them.  Raised in Florida and New Mexico, God's will brought him to Texas and to South Plains College, where he studied commercial music and taught guitar, bass, and voice.  He has traveled the United States and abroad to Belize, Japan, and England, playing his music and sharing his love of Jesus Christ and the Gospel with others.

Music and ministry are not separate in his mind.  Music is his life, and Caleb Jude Green is taking the passion God has given him for life and music straight to people.

RUSSELL GULLEY - BACK TO THE SWAMP

With the release of his new CD, Back to the Swamp, Muscle Shoals music veteran, Russell Gulley, revitalizes his recording career after a silence of more than two decades. His last release was in 1981 on MSS/Capitol Records with the Shoals-based southern rock band, Jackson Highway, and his current one is a return to the roots of the music that has always influenced him most "a funky mix of Americana, blending blues, rock, country and gospel."

"Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers"  -   The experience of being led into that musical "swamp" under the guidance of Jimmy Johnson and David Hood of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section has definitely made Russell Gulley one of the fortunate few.  Life inside the walls of 3614 Jackson Highway was much more than a young songwriter could imagine in '73, and certainly the stuff of which legends are made. Back to the Swamp is a reflection upon those days spent in the Shoals learning the ropes and praying for that big "hit", but most of all...of the musical family and the bond still exists.

 HILLVUE HEIGHTS MUSIC GROUP

Steve Tichenor in talking about the Hillvue Heights Music Group, says, "When I first began leading worship at Hillvue Heights Church in the spring of 1995, Pastor Steve Ayers came to me with his desire to see original worship music written by and for the Hillvue congregation. Up until that point, while I had been involved with worship music most of my Christian life, I had written very little in that genre. Most of my songs were evangelistic in purpose and CCM in style.

One of the things that impressed me the most about the music at Hillvue was how evangelism and worship were blended together in a unique way. It seemed like a perfect fit for where my heart wanted to take me, so I began writing songs specifically to be used in worship at the church.

The songs on this project represent a good portion of my effort in this pursuit. It is my earnest hope that these songs will be used to lead God's people into His very presence and also to bring the "yet to be saved" under the convicting domain of the Holy Spirit, that they may be brought to a life changing conversion experience."

EDDIE HINTON - LETTERS FROM MISSISSIPPI

This new MIGHTY FIELD of VISION CD release of LETTERS FROM MISSISSIPPI is truly unique. It has been digitally remastered and contains two previously unreleased cuts making a total of 14 songs !  Guitarist, songwriter and singer Eddie Hinton may be one of the great, unheralded white blues musicians of all time. Fortunately, fans can latch on to a few recordings on compact disc.

Hinton died far too young at age 51 on July 28, 1995, yet his guitar playing can be heard all over famous recordings by famous people, hit records by Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Joe Tex, Solomon Burke, Percy Sledge, The Staple Singers, The Dells, Johnny Taylor, Elvis Presley, Boz Scaggs, The Looking Glass, Otis Redding and even reggae star Toots Hibbert of Toots and the Maytalls.

  EDDIE HINTON VIDEO

EDDIE HINTON on Video!  Yes, Eddie Hinton is captured in a video with John D. Wyker (AKA Sailcat).  This is the only video footage of Hinton anywhere!  This almost hour long video shows his unique sense of humor...tales from his life...and his musical genius as he makes up dozens of songs on the spot.

Hinton was an enigma.  When he was about 22 his music career took off and he was writing songs for all the stars and playing guitar on their records....Vice President of Atlantic Records always said "Eddie would be the next big thang."

But, Eddie's life took a turn toward the darker side as his mental problems worsened.  This video was recorded as Eddie was "coming back."  Unfortuately, the world lost Eddie in 1995.  Enjoy a glimpse into the life of Eddie Hinton in this rare find.

 The Histrioniks

The Histrioniks are Cat Levy and Larry Levy. A blend of the dramatic and the philosophical, the duo began working together in the summer of 2004. In his previous life Larry was Helmet Walker, drummer for the instro-surf band ,

The Swiv-o-matics http://www.swivomatics.com while Cat, formerly Cat Bikini,  sang the infamous version of The Who's "Boris The Spider" and danced with the band at their live shows.

"Homesick From The Grave", their debut CD on CatErratic Records http://www.caterraticrecords.com, features 11 original compositions written by Larry over the course of the past year. The songs are personal, dark and foreboding and come to life through Cat's sensitive interpretation. The personal touch is made complete with all original artwork by Cat. To check out more of Cat's artwork drop us a line at levy@thehistrioniks.com.  Recorded at Invisible Sound Studios http://www.invisiblesoundstudios.com/ in Baltimore Maryland in the fall of 2004. The CD was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Dave "Dutch" Nachodsky. Produced by Dave "Dutch" Nachodsky and The Histrioniks.

 DONNY HOLLAND

I was raised in a small town just north of New Orleans, Louisiana.  When I was kid growing up, I somehow got hooked on oldies. I was an oldies junkyWhile the kids at school were spouting the lyrics of Beastie Boys, I was humming the Beach Boys or singing my favorite song, "Red Rubber Ball". No kidding. I was a happy lad listening to my happy music. I would spend 6 hours a day sitting in front of my imitation hi-fi stereo, listening to golden oldies shows, my forefinger going numb from holding the record button. I just couldn't stand the thought of missing a good song. I loved this music to the very core of my being - that was the beginning.

Fast-forwarding to the present, I have stepped out on my own and just completed my debut self-titled album. That's right, I quit my job, sold my house and I'm going big or bust. I had the privilege of working with some great talents on this album including Chuck Zwicky (mix engineer NY), Ken Love (mastering Nashville) and host of great musicians. I am extremely excited about this album; I am expecting to sell 10,000 of them this first year on the road. I can only focus on today, and if I can be faithful with that, then I know tomorrow will take care of itself.  Listen to Donny Holland and purchase his self titled CD at http://www.donnyholland.com/.
